Whether you are preparing concepts for a marketing campaign, teaching children to think independently, brainstorming ideas for your business, or anything else, these methods are designed to stimulate divergent thinking.
10 ideas in 10 minutes
Force your inner critic to shut up, generating as many ideas as possible. Quantity over quality helps the mind expand rather than contract. It is important to note that they do not have to be good ideas.
Shower thinking
The reason we get great ideas in the shower is that we’re not doing anything else. Use time in the shower, on the train, during a run, or meditating in a sensory deprivation chamber to consider the theme you want to spark creativity about.
101 ideias
Give yourself a deadline to compile 101 ideas into a list. By having such a large amount of ideas, you give yourself permission to have more bad ideas, which in turn opens up the possibility to have more good ideas.
Sleeping on it
Immerse yourself in research and visual references, then let the subconscious go to work. Sleep on it* and give your mind time to process and synthesise.

Draw
Instead of writing down ideas, start outlining relevant concepts. By activating the visual cortex, it will open up new ways of thinking about things. It is not important to solve the problem immediately. Just start scrabbling.
Tricktionary
Use random stimuli such as reading words from the dictionary to provoke a response, or try using the last letter of one word as the initial letter of another word. Associating words and concepts freely and spontaneously can generate “creative sparks”.
Mind maps
Write your goal in a circle in the middle of a page and branch out highlighted and associated ideas to discover and stimulate new insights. Try putting your mind map on the wall while brainstorming.
