Project Description
Exxa Design Studio designed, laid out, and created the catalogs box set collection that accompanies the exhibitions of the International Artistic Ceramics Biennial 2025 and the official program of the event. A cohesive editorial body, with its own visual language, which respects the uniqueness of each exhibition and makes it easy to read, enjoy, and collect.
Each volume was treated as an stand-alone design piece and, at the same time, as part of a system. Precise typography, rhythmic grids, functional iconography, and clear hierarchies ensure a graphic finish worthy of a landmark event.
The fine paper selected for the cover was chosen for its ability to highlight texture and uniqueness. We used a thick varnish for covers, which required several test iterations to achieve the desired relief, shine and contour definition. We applied reserved varnish to the box to accentuate its elegance, ensuring tactile contrast and sophistication without visual noise.
On a technical level, we conducted prototyping with physical models, weight and folding, binding, handling tests and color proofs. We monitored the printing process with consistent measurements and registration control, and inspected the finishing, cutting, and assembly to ensure a flawless final result.
We are proud of this project, due to the rigorous and ambitious nature of the work. We would like to thank all the partners who made it possible.
